The Institute Research Council under the Chairmanship of Director, ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, Ludhiana, coordinates the entire research agenda of the directorate. The key functions of Institute Research Committee (IRC) are to critically review the on-going and completed research projects, to consider the new research proposals and to advise on fostering of linkages between the groups/divisions of the directorate in respect of multidisciplinary/multi-locational projects

 To create awareness among the farmers about various technologies and promotion of students’ training and research in cutting edge areas, CIPHET has developed numerous Inter-Institutional linkages with the SAUs, State Departments of Agriculture, Post-Harvest Industries etc.ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India and the AICRP are having active collaborations with following international and national organizations.

CIPHET has signed MoUs and engaged in consultations with various organizations such as; CWC; FCI; NABARD; ATMA; PAU, Ludhiana; SLIET, Sangrur, GADVASU, Ludhiana, Indian Institute of Food  Processing Technology (IIFPT), Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University (TNFJU), Nagapattinam, DOCA, New Delhi, Tamil Nadu agriculture University, Coimbatore (TN) in respect of CRP Scheme, Indian Institute of Packaging, Mumbai, CCS, HAU, Hissar, besides various private and non-governmental organizations and companies.
